Vegas Part Duex
Over winter break, Ben took some time off. And because we had a free room at the Bellagio, along with food and gambling comps., we headed to Vegas for a few days. Every hotel had holiday decorations on a very grand scale, so it felt like Christmas even in Sin City!

We walked around and went to some of our favorite spots
and found some new ones along the way.

We went into Excalibur which is a casino I love from the outside, when it's all lit up at night, but I've noticed the inside getting more and more, well, ghettoooo! They have go-go dancers dancing all over the casino surrounded by drunken pigs. Beer pong tournaments all over the place with more drunken debauchery happening all around you. There are cigarette butts and dirty glasses and empty bottles all over the machines, chairs and every visible surface. And almost every machine I sat at had lighting or volume issues. It seems a little run down. Ben and I vowed never to go back inside there. Even though I have gotten several free room offers from them, it isn't worth the hellish drive to stay there. I just have to delete them now.

Here is the view from our room. We always say we're going to go to the pool or spa, but I don't think I've actually been in a Vegas pool or spa EVER!
The view looking straight out.
We had a great time. We came back with more money than we went with and everything else was on the house. The "coming back with money" thing is quite a new concept and was the icing on the cake.
Unfortunately, when we returned, Bula had an anal gland infection that needed treatment, 2 rounds of antibiotics and even a cone around the neck, so our winnings plus some were gone in an instant.
Oh, well, I love this adorable pooch.
and found some new ones along the way.
Flamingos at The Flamingo.
so we went through the mall to get to them. We'd also cut through every casino, store, etc., because it was so cold! And we came across more holiday decorations everywhere we went!
This ornament/showgirl was humongous and hanging from the ceiling.
We also had sandwiches two nights in a row because they were so good. The Earl of Sandwich shop in Planet Hollywood makes the best Caprese sandwich. I was still thinking about it from our last trip to Vegas! Now we make it at home. Mmmm!
